UOB Lady’s Cardholders can earn extra miles when maintaining a balance in the UOB Lady’s Savings Account, with bonus miles per dollar (mpd) depending on the monthly average balance (MAB).
However, the bonus cap is tied to the card type, not the account balance:
UOB Lady’s Card: Max S$1,000 eligible spending/month
UOB Lady’s Solitaire/Lady’s Solitaire Metal Card: Max S$2,000 eligible spending/month
Miles Earned Based on Account Balance
S$10,000 – S$49,999 → +2 mpd
S$50,000 – S$99,999 → +4 mpd
S$100,000+ → +6 mpd
Opportunity Cost & Value Analysis: Miles vs Fixed Deposits
S$10,000 – S$49,999 Tier: Recommended
For a UOB Lady’s Solitaire Cardholder who fully utilizes the S$2,000 monthly bonus cap, the UOB Lady’s Savings Account generates an additional 48,000 miles per year at +2 mpd.
At a 1.5 cents per mile valuation, this equates to S$720 in value.
In contrast, placing S$10,000 in a fixed deposit at 3% p.a. would yield S$300 in interest over a year. The miles strategy provides S$420 more in value, making it the better option—as long as the bonus cap is fully utilized each month.
S$50,000 – S$99,999 Tier: Borderline
With a S$50,000 deposit, a UOB Lady’s Solitaire Cardholder earns an additional 96,000 miles per year at +4 mpd.
At a 1.5 cents per mile valuation, this translates to S$1,440 in value.
However, a S$50,000 fixed deposit at 3% p.a. would generate S$1,500 in interest annually. In this case, the fixed deposit slightly edges out the miles strategy by S$60, making it a borderline choice. If interest rates exceed 3% p.a., the fixed deposit becomes the clearly superior option.
S$100,000+ Tier: Not Recommended
With a S$100,000 deposit, a UOB Lady’s Solitaire Cardholder earns an additional 144,000 miles per year at +6 mpd.
At a 1.5 cents per mile valuation, this equates to S$2,160 in value.
Meanwhile, a S$100,000 fixed deposit at 3% p.a. would generate S$3,000 in interest over a year, offering S$840 more than the miles strategy. This makes the fixed deposit the superior choice for those prioritizing returns.
Final Recommendation
S$10,000 deposit: Best value—the miles strategy outperforms fixed deposits, making it the ideal sweet spot.
S$50,000 deposit: Break-even—miles value and fixed deposit returns are almost equal, so this depends on your personal valuation of miles.
S$100,000+ deposit: Not worth it—fixed deposit offers significantly better returns.
