2025 Card Review: DBS Yuu Card

2025 Card Review: DBS Yuu Visa/Amex
Was this my favourite card in 2024?

The DBS yuu Card's partnership with KrisFlyer has elevated its appeal among miles collectors. By allowing cardholders to convert yuu Points into KrisFlyer miles, the card effectively offers an impressive earn rate of 10 mpd at yuu merchants. This rate surpasses pretty much, every miles cards in SG, but what is the catch here? let's find out.

DBS Yuu Rewards Card: MileWise Card Rating for 2025

☐ Core Card to Use 🔥

☑ Use Only When There Is a Promotion 🎯

☐ Apply Only for Sign-Up Bonus (SUB) 💰

☐ Don't Bother Applying 🚫

MileWise Commentary: Provided you can hit the S$600 minimum spend on the DBS yuu Card, this should be a no-brainer. Unfortunately, the high mpd also requires careful tracking and planning since the minimum spend is also the cap—spending beyond S$600 in a calendar month won’t earn any additional bonus miles and will dilute your overall mpd. That said, reaching the magic S$600 mark each month isn’t difficult, especially if you’re spending on groceries, food delivery, or ride-hailing services for a family.

We all know the 10 mpd won’t last forever, and I know everyone will complain and threaten to cancel the card when this inevitable promotion ends, so I’m rating it as "Use Only When There Is a Promotion".

Key Features of the DBS Yuu Card

  • High Earn Rates at yuu Merchants: Earn 10 yuu Points per S$1 spent at participating yuu merchants (5% rebate or 2.78 mpd). Upon meeting the S$600 minimum spend, earn an additional 26 yuu Points per S$1, totaling 36 yuu Points per S$1 (18% rebate or 10 mpd).

  • Flexible Redemption Options: Convert yuu Points into cash rebates (200 yuu Points = S$1) or KrisFlyer miles (3.6 yuu Points = 1 mile).

  • Extensive Merchant Network – Earn rewards at Cold Storage, Giant, 7-Eleven, foodpanda, Gojek, BreadTalk, Singtel, and more.

  • Separate Caps for Visa & Amex – If you hold both Visa and Amex versions, you can double your cap to S$1,200 monthly.

Who Should use the DBS Yuu Card?

  • Frequent yuu Merchant Shoppers – If you're already spending close to S$600 at Cold Storage, Giant, or foodpanda, this card makes it effortless to clock 6,000 KrisFlyer miles every month.

  • Dedicated Miles Chasers – This isn’t a card for those who dislike tracking their spending. If you don’t hit the S$600 minimum, you’ll only earn 2.78 mpd, which is mediocre. To maximize returns, you need a solid spending strategy each month, and perhaps, some deliberate change in where you do your groceries, PHV and food deliveries.

Follow these tips to maximise your miles from DBS Yuu Card

  • (My personal choice) Singtel Self-service Kiosk – If you’re thick-skinned enough, ask family and friends if they have Singtel bills to pay—bills are one of the easiest and most consistent ways to hit the minimum spend. You can overpay your bill by up to double the due amount, helping you hit exactly S$600. All kiosks accept Visa, but not all accept Amex. Some kiosks are frequently under repair, so I recommend checking the Telegram group for kiosk availability before heading out. Check out the nearest singtel kiosk over here.

  • Groceries at Giant (or Cold Storage if necessary) – Even if you don’t live near a Giant or Cold Storage, consider making a bi-monthly or quarterly trip and stocking up on non-perishable groceries to clock the minimum spend, and giving the card a rest for the following month while you deplete your overstocked groceries. Cold Storage prices may be higher, potentially negating the value of 10 mpd, but the wines at Cold Storage sometimes offer good deals—worth checking out!

Final Thoughts: Should You Get the DBS Yuu Card

If you're still hesitating, my advice is: get it before it gets nerfed. Miles for life, no regrets. 🚀
